The MW4 Camo Ladder: Military to Divergence

People start Modern Warfare 4 aiming for Orion Reforged and find out a week later how much sits in front of it. Here is the whole ladder, in order, so you know what you are signing up for.

Per weapon

Each gun goes through its own chain:

1. The 8 Military camos
2. The 3 Special camos
3. Gold
4. Platinum
5. Harmonic Break

That is per weapon, and there are 33 launch weapons.

The account-wide gate

Divergence is the final Completionist camo, and it does not work per gun. It unlocks once Harmonic Break is done on all 33 launch weapons.

This is the part that catches people. You cannot shortcut Divergence by focusing on one favourite weapon. Every gun in the launch roster has to go through its full chain, which means leveling all 33 along the way, because camo challenges need the attachments that levels unlock.

Then the mastery camos

Only once Divergence is done do the mode mastery camos open:

• Multiplayer: Mercurial Drift, then Polyatomic Reforged, then Orion Reforged.
• DMZ: Chiral, then Ripple Tide, then Helio.
• Warzone: Damascus Reforged, Empyros and Parallax.

What this means for planning

Do not grind one gun. If Divergence is the goal, spreading work across the roster is the job, not a distraction from it.

Level as you go. A gun without its attachments is harder to complete camo challenges on, so weapon level and camo progress pull in the same direction. Weapon leveling covers that.

Be honest about the size of it. 33 weapons, each through eleven-plus camo tiers, before the mastery chain starts. That is the single biggest time commitment in the game.
