MW4 Platforms: PS5, Xbox, PC and Switch 2

Short answer: four platforms, and two notable absences.

Where it released

Modern Warfare 4 is on:

• PlayStation 5
• Xbox Series X|S
• PC
• Nintendo Switch 2

What it is not on

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Last-gen consoles did not get Modern Warfare 4. If you are still on one of those, this is the year the series leaves you behind, and reporting around Season 1 suggests Warzone ends its own PS4 and Xbox One support on 6 November as well.

Game Pass, at least at launch. Modern Warfare 4 was not included at release.

The Switch 2 release

This is the headline platform story. Activision's announcement put Modern Warfare 4 on Nintendo Switch 2, which is Call of Duty's return to Nintendo hardware after more than a decade away.

What this means for ordering

For bot lobbies, the invite goes to your Activision ID rather than to a platform account, so what matters is that a host can reach you. Tell us your platform in your order ticket and we put you with someone who can.

For anything where a player plays on your account, the platform matters more, and the product page says so before you pay.
