Ranked Play in Black Ops 7 is the competitive playlist built on Call of Duty League rules. You win to earn Skill Rating (SR), climb through the ranks, and collect rewards that only exist for the current season. Here is how all of it works, from unlocking the playlist to the Top 250 leaderboard.

How to unlock Ranked Play

You need 50 wins in matchmade Multiplayer before Ranked Play opens. Wins from Party Games and Limited Time Modes do not count toward the 50, so play the standard playlists if you are trying to unlock it quickly.

The ranks, from Bronze to Top 250

Black Ops 7 ranks run in this order:

  1. Bronze
  2. Silver
  3. Gold
  4. Platinum
  5. Diamond
  6. Crimson
  7. Iridescent
  8. Top 250

Most ranks are split into three tiers (I, II and III). Top 250 is not a fixed SR number: it is a live leaderboard of the 250 highest players, so your place moves as everyone else wins and loses.

Activision does not publish the SR needed for each rank on its help pages, and the numbers you see quoted online come from different seasons. Treat any exact threshold you read as a guide rather than a rule.

Placement matches

Everyone starts a season Unranked. You need three placement wins to get a starting rank, and the projected starting rank updates after each one. If you finished last season at Platinum or above, you only need one placement win at the start of a new season.

How SR works, and the protections you get

You gain SR for wins and lose it for losses. At the highest ranks and on the Top 250 leaderboard, Activision says gains are slightly smaller and losses slightly larger, so the climb gets steeper the higher you go.

There are several protections that stop a bad game from costing you:

  • Daily loss protection: your first loss of the day costs no SR.
  • New season protection: your first three losses of the season cost no SR.
  • Rank up protection: your first three losses after reaching a new rank cost no SR.
  • Matchmade teammate quits: no SR loss if a teammate you were matched with leaves mid-game. This does not cover a quitter from your own party.

Quitting, inactivity and friendly fire all carry SR penalties and can lead to suspensions, so do not leave matches early.

Modes, maps and the veto

Ranked uses Call of Duty League settings, modes and weapon restrictions. The modes are Hardpoint, Control, Search and Destroy and Overload. Each match offers three map and mode combinations; each team vetoes one and the remaining one is played. Snipers are allowed in Search and Destroy only.

Party rules at the top

Who you can queue with depends on rank:

  • Bronze to Platinum: no restrictions.
  • Diamond: your party must be within two ranks of each other.
  • Crimson and above: parties of one or two players, within one rank.
  • Four-player parties: allowed with any mix of ranks if everyone is Diamond or below. Matchmaking uses the highest rank in the party.

These rules are why the climb above Diamond is often the hardest part: you can no longer bring a full squad.

Season rewards

Every season has its own rewards, earned by wins and by the highest rank you reach. In Season 06 these include a weapon blueprint at 5 wins, Calling Cards from Silver up, weapon camos from Gold to Crimson, animated rewards at Iridescent and Top 250, and a Top 250 Champion card for the player who finishes first. Season rewards are only available during their season.

If you want help with the climb

We offer Black Ops 7 ranked boosting, from a few divisions up to Iridescent, with the price and delivery window shown before you pay. The product page lists exactly what is included and what we need from you after payment. Activision does not allow boosting or account sharing, and it can suspend, ban or reset accounts that break its rules. No one can honestly promise that will never happen. Our Terms of Service say the same, and you take that risk on when you order.
